Community Helpers Parade

Parading through the school

Our dentist brought us goodie bags to keep our teeth clean

To celebrate the finish of our social studies unit on community helpers, we had a career dress up day and community helper parade through the school. The class was able to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grow up. Our class had wonderful participation and a wide range of wonderful career ambitions. We had doctors, nurses, a veterinarian, a dentist, a police officer, soldiers, firemen, a farmer, teachers, a coach and a chef. What bright futures!

Apple Fest

To end our reading unit on apples, we had an Apple Fest. We were able to taste all sorts of apple products- some we liked, and some we did not. :) We tried apple jacks, applesauce, apple chips, apple juice, apple cider, apple jelly, apple butter, and homemade apple pie. We also tasted three types of apples: granny smith, golden delicious, and red delicious. We voted on our class favorite and granny smith apples won the most votes. Thanks to all the moms who sent in apple products and who came in to help out!

Off to a great start!

We had an exciting start to the 2008-2009 school year! Miss Camp and Mrs. Palacios are very excited about our class! We are already making great new friends and learning so much!
